Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo Win the International Van of the Year Award 2019

The Peugeot Partner, Vauxhall Combo and Citroen Berlingo were announced as the joint winners at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Show 2018 in Hannover.

The vans were praised for their practicality, comfort and advanced technology and seem to have blown the judges away, as the trio (dubbed the ‘Pomlingo’)placed a whole 35 points higher than the runner up, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which was awarded just 92 points.

The vans are very similar, but each one has specific design differences which set them apart and give them their own personality.

Citroen Berlingo

The Citroen Berlingo is shorter than its predecessor, making it easier to manoeuvre and it exudes Citroen’s unique styling. There will be two versions of this van: the comfort-oriented Driver and the tougher Worker.

Peugeot Partner

What makes Peugeot Partner vans different is the technology on offer. It is the first time that the French manufacturer has ever integrated its iCockpit design in a van, which consists of a small steering wheel and a high-set display, designed to keep your eyes on the road.

The intelligent Surround Rear Vision System provides better visibility, preventing blindspots and the new Peugeot Partner vans also come with a feature called ‘Overload Alert’, which tells you via a warning light on the dashboard when you exceed the maximum payload.

Vauxhall Combo

Vauxhall, the most recent to join the PSA Group, is the brand that has changed its design most drastically. The previous Vauxhall Combo van was based on the Fiat Doblo Cargo, while the new model uses a mixture of parts from the other members of the PSA family. This model has a distinctive front-end design and much of its interior is borrowed from the Combo Life MPV.
