Ford Transit Connect Review
The Ford Transit Connect is such a well thought out vehicle. This van drives as well as a Ford car.
The Connect comes in L1 and L2 load lenghts, the L2 being a long wheelbase.
There are a few different models, Base, (which is the start model), Trend, Limited, (the top specification) and ECOnetic efficency model.
The Connect has Ford's latest 1.5 TDCi diesel engine with 75 (74bhp) 5 Speed, 100 (99bhp) 5 Speed and 120 (118bhp) 6 Speed.
The mpg ranges from 50.4mpg to 72.4mpg depending on which model.
All Connect vans have an impressive 60 litre fuel tank allowing a long range between re fuels.
Service intervals are every 20,000 miles.
The L1 van has a payload of about 630kg. The L2 van has a payload of about 720kg. The L1 model can carry two euro pallets and take 3 metre long items when loaded diagonally. The L2 can take 3.4 metre long loads.
The cabin of the Transit Connect is roomy, with clever storage options and lots of headroom.
The Ford Transit Connect is one of the best vans in it's class to drive.
Similar vans in this class are the Volkswagen Caddy, Citroen Berlingo, Fiat Doblo, Renault Kangoo and the Vauxhall Combo.
