Nissan Unveils NV300 Mobile Van Workshop Concept at the 2019 Brussels Motor Show
Nissan offers an exceptional range of vehicles in the LCV sector. From minibuses to fully electric powertrains, they’re constantly exploring niche markets in the van world.
The brand chose this year’s Brussels Motor Show, which took place from the 19th to the 27th of January, as the place to debut their latest idea.
To add to its ever-growing range, the manufacturer has now released a concept mobile workshop pack for their NV300 van. The new concept has a fully kitted out cargo area, designed with assistance from highly-respected London design team Studio Hardie. Included, is a handsome wooden interior, LED roof lights, a range of storage spaces an integrated touchscreen computer with a work chair to complete the look.
The key component of this concept however, is Nissan’s Energy Roam technology. This is a weatherproof, all in one battery that provides emission free energy to workers, allowing them to reduce their carbon footprint.
To add to this green theme, the battery packs are actually made from recovered battery packs from end-of-life Nissan Leaf’s! A solar panel on the vans roof is used to charge the pack and has a maximum output of 1kW; perfect for off the grid jobs.
LCV Planning and Marketing Director for Nissan Europe, Francesco Giacalone says ‘the Nissan NV300 Concept-van shows that Nissan is thinking about the future of the commercial vehicle. Nissan Energy ROAM will be a key differentiator for Nissan commercial vehicles’.
Energy Roam technology has previously been seen Nissans though, the Navara Dark Sky and EnGuard were both shown with this technology at previous motor shows. Roam technology is due to officially go on sale in European markets in Spring of 2019.
