Useful things to have in your van

When you spend most of your time inside your van, it can help to have some trusty faithful’s on board – but what should you keep inside your van? We know that space is precious so here are our favourite things to keep on board in case disaster strikes.

An Old Fashioned Map

Sat nav’s are handy but if you have no signal or you run out of battery, nothing beats a good old fashioned map. Whether you’re an orienteering pro or a navigational novice, it is worth swatting up on your geography and purchasing a printed map. You can either go for a giant one of the UK or get hold of a few smaller ones to keep in your glovebox.

Safety Equipment

In the event of an emergency, you want to make sure you are safe. For example, if you break down, it is useful to have hi-vis jackets on board as well as hazard triangles, to make sure you are visible to passers by. A snow shovel can also be useful – we know that snow isn’t to common, we are more likely to get another flood, but we do think it is good to be prepared.

Spare Clothes

Spare clothes and extra warm clothes. Whether you get soaked on a job or spill your sausage and egg bap down the front of your clothes, you’re going to want something to change into. Pack some extra layers as well for those chilly drives home and, of course, if you get stranded.

A Notebook and pen

If inspiration strikes you or you just can’t remember the postcode of your next job, a notebook and pen will come in handy.

So there are a few things to squeeze in alongside your tools and the inevitable clutter that ends up in your van. Don’t worry, we won’t judge! If you are looking for a used van in Warrington to house all of this in, you’re almost in the right place. View our used vans for sale here or visit us to see them in person at CVS.
